As a Coach, Chris has differentiated himself from others by offering a holistic approach to his craft. Whilst others have made names for themselves teaching a method, Chris has built a reputation for coaching people – Recognising that they are individuals both physically and psychologically and creating plans to improve their games based on these individual traits.

Chris’s professional playing career started as a Trainee Professional, during which time he won a significant number of events culminating in winning the Queensland Trainee Championships and subsequently qualifying not only for the National Trainee Championships but also a number of national professional tournaments.

Chris finished 6th in the 1989 Ford Open finishing in front of David Graham, Ian Woosnam and Nick Price, and had high placed finishes in the Queensland and New Zealand Opens. Chris was renowned on the circuit as being a consistent player who had the ability togo low as represented by the six course records he set.

Chris is a well respected member of the Australian PGA who has extensive experience as an Instructor, Club Fitter and Administrator of professional golf. Chris was extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to develop his passion and skill for teaching under the watchful eye of Charlie Earp, coach to Hall of Fame Member and golfing icon Greg Norman.

It is the above holistic methodology that has seen Chris be given the responsibility of coaching a number of District, State Junior Talent squads as well as being recognised by the Australian PGA as a Certified Member specialised in Coaching.

As a Club Fitter, Chris was trained by Titleists USA based Prominent Fitting Professional Steve Ball and was then given the honour of being made the Titleist Prominent Fitting Professional for Australia and New Zealand. This role has Chris regularly presenting and training his fellow Professionals in both countries and has seen Chris appointed as one of only six Titleist Advanced Fitting Professionals in Australia.

Chris’s relationship with Titleist has also given him the opportunity to spend time with legendary wedge designer and wedge fitters Bob Vokey and Aaron Dill at the Titleist Performance Institute in California.

As an Administrator Chris has been a Board Member of the Australian PGA as well as Chairman of the Queensland PGA and the Australian PGA National Tournament Committee.

For the past 13 years Chris has proudly held the position of Head Professional at Royal Queensland Golf Club. Prior to that he held the Director of Golf position at Noosa Springs Golf Resort for a period of 5 years.

Chris is a not only a passionate and talented coach but also fiercely determined to ensure that the game of golf prospers into future generations. His intimate understanding of what it takes for people to genuinely enjoy the game and provide outcomes to enhance these scenarios more regularly, will be Chris’s legacy to the game that he loves.
