Following an amateur career that included two Queensland Matchplay titles, two NCAA National Championship team titles, representing Queensland seven times and Australia in an under 26 team, Don made the decision to join the professional ranks in 1989.

As a professional, Don was a two time winner on the Canadian Tour, an exempt player (top 60) on the Australian Tour from 1991-1998 and played extensively on the Asian Tour where he enjoyed three 2nd place finishes and several top ten placings.

Dons Coaching career has seen him work as a Senior Instructor at the internationally recognised Gary Edwin Academy at the Glades for 8 years and enjoy two stints at Links Hope Island, the most recent from 2009 until present.

Dons knowledge of the game and teaching methods have see him appointed an Instructor for the PGA IGI University course for 15 years, as well conducting mentoring and assessment roles in tuition, and present seminars for PGA trainees.

Don has also guided players to win Australian National Amateur Titles and regularly assists Tour Players with their all-round games.

Dons philosophy is to teach each pupil on an individual basis and accommodate their existing standard (including contact and ball flight), their goals, any physical restrictions, age, frequency of practice and the players own concepts and thoughts in his approach to maximising their outcomes.

Don has a developed a Coaching Framework from which he operates that relates to simplifying and minimising motion and direction in order to get more consistent contact and club head speed.

By integrating his extensive experience as a teacher, player and student of the game Don is able to develop successful outcomes for his students by working on proven techniques in improving swing patterns, contact and ball flight.
